Iberia, ahead in innovation
Progress and digitalization have also knocked on the doors of Iberia, making it an airline of the 21st century. Here, the news in its area of innovation and the first new destinations for 2020.
Facial recognition is now a reality at Madrid airport
Iberia has just launched the pilot of a facial recognition project at Madrid’s Terminal 4, along with Aena, IECISA, Gunnebo and Thales. The objective is to improve the customer experience at the airport, as it allows passengers to identify themselves at the general and fast-track security checkpoints and boarding gates with their biometric profiles, meaning there’s no need to show their documents. The system will be tested for a period of six months to a year and will be available to passengers flying to Asturias or Brussels with Iberia.
Ljubljana and Fez, new summer destinations
Iberia is be adding two new destinations to its network in the summer of 2020: Ljubljana, Slovenia, and Fez, Morocco. From the last week of July and during the entire month of August, Iberia will fly to both cities four times a week on A319 planes, each with capacity for 141 people.
