Iberia returns to Japan
On 27 October – coinciding with the start of the winter season – we’ll start flying to Tokyo again, offering the only direct connection between Spain and Japan. Throughout the year, we’ll offer three weekly direct flights from Madrid to Narita Airport. The A350, our most modern, comfortable and efficient aircraft, consumes 30 to 35 per cent less fuel than its predecessor. This winter season alone, which runs until 25 March, we’ll make 45,000 seats available to our customers between the two countries.
You can now buy your tickets from €931 or 42,000 Avios (return flight) if you’re an Iberia Plus member.

Did you know...?
We first flew to Tokyo in 1986, although the flight plan at the time included stops in Barcelona and Mumbai. In 1992, the addition to our fleet of Airbus A340 and the improved version of the Boeing B747s allowed us to operate direct flights to Japan until 1998. In 2016, we once again offered this route until 2020, with the interruption being caused by the pandemic.
