Iberia, recently awarded, introduces new destinations this summer
Iberia, recently named the Best Airline in Southern Europe, has new developments in its map of destinations, fleet and features.
Iberia, named by Skytrax as the Best Airline in Southern Europe
The company has won the title of Best Airline in Southern Europe at the Skytrax awards as the result of a survey from September 2018 to May 2019 of more than 21 million customers of 100 nationalities who rated the on-board and airport services of 300 airlines.
Back in 2017, Iberia was awarded the fourth Skytrax star for its customer service on-board and in T4 at Madrid Airport. Since then, the new Premium Economy cabin has been introduced into many flights to the Americas, the Dalí and Velázquez Premium Lounges in Madrid have been redesigned and five Airbus A350/900 have arrived.
Bari, Bastia, Bergen, Corfu, Genoa, Verona and Zadar: new destinations for the summer
Iberia’s offer of flights for the summer season includes capitals of Antiquity, island paradises, a gate to the fjords and stunning beaches on the Adriatic and the Dalmatian Coast:
- Bari: two weekly flights from 1 July to 13 September.
- Bastia: five weekly flights in August.
- Bergen: two weekly flights from 1 June to 30 September.
- Corfu: three weekly flights from 15 June to 21 September.

The A350 arrives in Colombia with Iberia
Underlying its commitment to Colombia, Iberia has chosen Bogotá as the next destination of the most advanced aircraft in its fleet and on the market – the Airbus A350-900 – which will operate its daily flight between Madrid and Bogotá from 27 October. The company already has five of the 20 Airbus A350-900s it will receive by 2023. This twin-engine model with a range of 14,800 km consumes 25% less fuel than aircraft of a similar capacity, it is the quietest on the market and also offers more space and better features.
Does your bag fit in the cabin? Scan it with Iberia’s app to find out
A new feature on Iberia’s app now allows you to check whether your bag fits within the measurements for carrying it onboard so you can make plans in the event you need to check-in your bag before you arrive at the airport. All you have to do is position your mobile near the bag and scan it.

Iberia joins the Heroes of Today platform in the fight against intolerance
The Heroes of Today platform brings together brands who are committed to transforming society and shines a light on social initiatives through real stories about real heroes. These are the people who fight for a better world.
The objective is to give visibility to different initiatives linked to the company. The first instalment tells the story of the NGO Mano a Mano, an organisation that emerged, in fact, thanks to the initiative of Iberia employees.
